Forex sessions live: who is trading right now?

The four major trading sessions at a glance, live and in your time zone. With time left until close or open, holidays and the London–New York overlap.

Forex market hours

  1. Sydney: 07:00–16:00 local time – a quiet start to the week.
  2. Tokyo: 09:00–18:00 local time – JPY and AUD pairs move.
  3. London: 08:00–17:00 local time – the session with the most volume.
  4. New York: 08:00–17:00 local time – US data, lots of movement in USD pairs.

Why the overlap matters

When London and New York are open at the same time (approx. 13:00–17:00 London time), liquidity is highest and spreads are usually lowest.

The clock handles daylight saving time for each city, so the times in your time zone shift in spring and autumn.
